From Cookies By the Dozen - this is the All-American Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe. The book says: From coast to coast, this cookie reigns as our nation's favorite. This well-defined version boasts a soft chewiness with lots of chips studding a tasty batter. For special occasions or holidays, decorate the cookies with squiggles of melted chocolate or write your guests' names on them. This recipe makes enough for you and someone you love. **Please note that some ingredients use two lines because of the measurements needed.

I found the base of this recipe on Recipezaar (yes that's my favorite recipe resource). The original was thinner than I liked so I have thinkened it up a bit. I've also decreased the garlic a bit, and increased the cheese to suit our family tastes.

This is just like the recipe you find on the back of a Stove Top box, except we use pork rather than chicken and don't premix the stuffing. The others I found on this site that were close do not include the mixed vegetables. Typically though instead of purchasing bags of mixed veggies, we just mix our own from the frozen veggies we have on hand.

I found this recipe on RecipeZaar, where it was originally done with chicken, but any meat should do. The notes there said that this recipe is out of Cooking Light magazine and is very much like Kung Pao chicken. Apparently the poster had played with the recipe, and we have as well.

A rice hot dish with a oriental flair. This was originally found on RecipeZaar, but I have halved the recipe, increased the soy sauce, and added the chow mein noodles for some crunch on the top.

If you like less heat make sure sure to remove all the seeds and as much of the membrane of the jalapeƱo as possible. This is enough marinade for 2 or so pounds of meat if you are feeding more than the 3 we typically feed.

This is a wonderful way to start the day and can be customized with peppers or onion for a bit more flavor.
